A new 'modern' thatched cottage in the Green Belt, combining many of the most desireable of traditional cottage characteristics with modern practicalities, to satisfy conflicting demands with a careful blend of old and new features.   This design not only secured an unlikely planning permission, but added enormously to the building's value, without increasing build cost.
