Clewborough House School commissioned us to convert and re-clad a derelict 1960's school so they could consolidate 2 smaller schools onto 1 better site. We negotiated a complex planning permission involving travel, badger and tree surveys, traffic calming measures, complete services re-fit, theatre, and staff accommodation. We produced comprehensive design and drawings, enabling a school for 250 pupils to open in a year (6 months of bureaucracy followed by 6 months of building). We have now just completed the addition of a new nursery block with 9 classrooms, music, I.T., library and toilet facilities etc., plus central Atrium used for assembly, communal dining and indoor play. Prince Edward officially opened the new block on the 4th March 2004. |
