Work began last year
on site in Ireland on this 'upside down' house shaped like a banana,
such that the living rooms (with garaging and bedrooms set into the
bank underneath) lead out onto a curved terrace with spectacular
river views. Linking a curved gallery is a top lit spiral stair, and
the high level of specification includes slate roofing, stone
external walls, triple glazing, high levels of insulation, concrete
floors with underfloor heating etc. We were able to let our hair
down on this project to create something special, and look forward
to seeing the finished article in the flesh.
TESTIMONIAL
'We gave you an open brief and
you have managed to create for us an imaginative house exceeding all
our expectations, taking wonderful advantage of a site that you have
only seen from photos. It is already obvious to all that this house
is going to be exceptional in every respect, in stark contrast to
all the other bungalows with their mock columns which litter the
area, and even the bankers have already given us an unusually high
valuation. Thank God we didn't listen to the conservative Estate
Agents and copy all before us! We are already delighted and we have
barely got out of the ground'.
